Privacy Policy

Mise ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered meal planning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Mise.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).
• Meal preferences: Budget, time preferences, cuisine choices, dietary restrictions, and household member profiles you provide during onboarding.
• Pantry data: Ingredients you choose to track in the pantry feature.
• Usage data: Meal plans generated, recipes viewed, and shopping list activity.
• Payment information: Handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers.

• To generate personalized meal plans using AI.
• To build and maintain your shopping list and pantry.
• To process payments and manage your subscription via LemonSqueezy.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
• To improve and maintain the Mise service.

Mise uses two AI providers to generate content:

• Meal plans and recipes are generated by sending your preferences (dietary restrictions, budget, cuisine choices, and pantry items) to Google Gemini via OpenRouter. We do not send personally identifying information such as your name or email to AI providers.
• Recipe photos (Pro subscribers only) are generated by OpenAI using the recipe name and description only — no personal data is included in image generation prompts.

AI provider prompts are used solely to generate content for your use and are not used to train AI models.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate Mise:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• OpenRouter / Google — AI meal plan and recipe generation (preferences only, no PII).
• OpenAI — AI recipe photo generation for Pro subscribers (recipe name and description only, no PII).
• LemonSqueezy — payment processing and subscription management.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Upstash — rate limiting (user ID only, no personal data).
• Vercel — web application hosting.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Aggregate, non-identifying usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (available directly in Settings → Danger Zone).
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.

Mise uses only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Mise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of Mise after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
